Audio Guys!
Ok so the Jeep Cherokee Sport I bought a couple weeks ago. Ok so the radio turns on, plays cds, etc, but zero sound. I checked the wires, fuses, etc. All seem good. I've heard of issues with factory amps and bypassing them so I checked where the amp is and nothing is there, but a clump of wires. So I'm assuming they removed the amp and the cut the wires. So wtf is my next option? Im thinking of buying a factory radio and upullandpay and seeing if it works stock, but can the radio and speakers function without the stock amp? I can take pics of all the wiring if needed. I'm not against buying a new cd player, but I rather not blow the cash if thats not the problem obviously. Its a 1998 Sport btw.

Run wires from the radio straight to the speakers. It will use radio power, which prob has more power than that factory amp anyway.

http://www.installdr.com/InstallDocs...PDF/533001.asp
should be a color coded diagram, use that and install a new head unit with a built in amp and run the wires straight to the speakers from that. or buy another factory amp. I doubt the factory hu has a built in amp if its using an external one.

Yeah I ended up cutting out all of the old harnesses and rewired it bypassing the amp totally. Works fine. Thanks.
