Help me choose my next daily for <$5k

What's up ghost's of CSS?

I know this place has been dead lately, but I figured the couple that do pass through from time to time could help.

I'm looking for a reliable/"sporty"(I'm using that term loosely.) daily

I prefer an import, just for reliability sake and part availability but it's not a must.

These are my must haves:
-5/6 speed, unless it's only offered in an auto
-working A/C, could probably overlook it if it's a good deal.
-working stereo, ain't nobody got time to mess with that shit.
-running/driving, ready to rock, or roll, or and rock AND roll.
-something semi-"sporty", (1.8t VW's, Civic Si's, etc.)
-no major body damage, steelies, or interior panels missing/falling off.

Pretty much just want a solid daily, that I can have some fun in if I get bored.

The only exceptions I will make to the must haves above are:
-Clean 96+ ECSB Z71 4x4 Vortec Silverado/Sierra
-1ST gen Ram CTD 5 speed 4x4
-Jeep wrangler 4.0 5 speed 4x4

Hadn't really considered Taco's, but Wranglers for sure. Just so hard to find one that doesn't look to have been beat to death, especially with the 4.0/5 speed combo.

JK, I'm thinking about picking up my step-dad's TC. I'm out of the car game. My car would need 1856 HP to run with my bike. And my bike is slow as dogshit.

I've owned a 99 GTP, definitely wouldn't mind another, just would rather have a 04+ GTP COMP G but the only ones I can find under 5k have 200k + miles.

That is its natural way of saying you need a new car.

So far none of mine have burned down yet.. just rusted away.

Cheap to fix for most things and stupid easy to work on. Very low
tech.

I'd suggest getting one from a southern state if possible to reduce rust.

4drs seem to rust out much more than the 2dr models do for whatever reason.

Check rocker panels and all the strut towers for rust.

Rust seems to happen under the gas lid on all the wbody cars.

2000 or 2001 i think got the rear splash guards to help keep the strut
towers from rusting out quickly.

I picked up a 2001 GTP for $1000 on craigslist... didn't run,
but problem was an injector driver wire in the harness was
exposed and grounding out blow out the fuse. Pep boys had
quoted her $1500 to fix.

I won't buy a 97-03 4 door, the coupes look much better IMO. After looking for weeks, I might just take out a small loan and get a ~10k car. Still open to ideas though.
