Engine block and cylindar head cleaning
Anyone know of a good place here in Cincy?

I need my 2.2 block and cylindar head cleaned and thats all, I can do the rest myself. Anyone know of a place that's not outrageously EXPENSIVE for such services?

Just take some Drano to the car wash and have a sodium hydroxide party, rinse well.

I blew up some pistons in my subaru, dropped a long block off to him on a sunday night, he had the new rods and pistons ordered delivered and installed that friday and I picked it up saturday morning. 1 week turn around for a whole bottom end rebuild. That's "forever" clearly.

You need to tell him up front your time frame and he will confirm rather that's possible or not.. don't just drop things off and expect him to jump all over it if you don't put it to him that way.

That's "MY" experience though.

Hot tanking and milling heads are often same/next day

Simple valve jobs 2-3 days turn around with acquiring valve seals (if not in stock) being the main delay

Block Machining Only (no assembly) Usually less than a week

Full engine builds 1-3 weeks once started (sometimes there may be others in line already) dependent on parts availability

All of this is dependent upon the customer providing items and info necessary. I dont have the best luck with customers supplying parts. Its best to let me take care of all that because it puts the responsibility of ordering the proper parts and also makes it easier to stand by our work. Also when it comes to bearings and pistons often time you do not know what to purchase until you start machining or at least have measured.

There are sometimes special circumstances!
