MR2 won't start
Last week my car wouldn't start at all. I changed the battery out. I had a tow come to get my car. Once the tow arrived my car magically started, but I had it towed anyways. Had it taken to my mechanic and he put a new starter in. Now it decided to stop working again. When I turn the key the radio, lights and other things powered by the battery come on just fine. The car doesn't turn over at all.

Also I just had a turbo timer, AFR, oil temp, oil pressure and boost gauge put in. Is it possible that the installer knocked a wire loose or something?

Check wiring for starter, relays, fuses, etc. Is it still at a shop? Have mechanic check the starter to make sure it isnt fried from factory.

It's still at home. It started up just fine a little bit ago. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the rain and that causing something to lose connection. It didn't start last night or early this morning when I tried it, but the car was still wet then. Now it's dry and it starts up fine.

If it would crank and not actually start, check the wiring going to your distributor. They like to break right at the distributor connector.

haha I wish I could but there is too much crap in the garage to park it in there. I did break the car cover out though and placed that over it.

It didn't crank at all when I turned the key. I could almost hear a barely audible clicking noise but that was about it.

Maybe a bad ground could be the problem? I'm certainly not an expert especially with MR2s tho. The noise you heard, did it just click once or over and over while you had the key to the start position?

I could hear a faint clicking that happened several times, but not the whole time the key was turned into the start position.

On an GSR I used to have I had the same kind of thing happen. I could hear a relay or something clicking but no turn over at all. On my car it was my negative battery cable not connecting to the body well enough. You just put in a battery so i'm sure the posts are clean. I'm not saying it's your neg cable connection but it's my understanding that as well as other grounds could cause this to happen. Good luck getting it figured out!

check your intake for a leak. if you have a BOV then their should be a cap over the part where the stock by pass valve went back into the intake before the turbo. if that is not sealed or if the cap fell off it will give you trouble.

It starts fine now. Some wires under the dash were repaired months ago and that seemed to do the trick. Now I just need to get the Greddy Profec B Spec II boost controller tuned properly so I doesn't allow the boost to spike at times...
