BikeShopping is infamous around these parts
Upgrade of my life
I bought an 06 Ninja 650r at the end of March and really enjoyed learning to ride. Never became a fan of highway riding because of the wind tossing me around, and the cars having 0 respect for me. I sold that bike for a pretty small loss but felt fine with the sale. I did not even put 500 miles on the bike myself, just local riding with a friend. My plan was to get another bike maybe next season, or during winter when I could find a good deal on one. Roughly a week after the sale I realized I could not wait and needed to ride again. Started shopping for 600's around the 2006-2008 range. Ended up going bigger because I fell in love with an 08 CBR 1000RR. I have not died yet but it is only the first week. I can say I feel much more safe on this bike, especially when on the highway. Going from sport touring to sport bike I also feel more in control of it. Maybe it is the position of my body or maybe it is just the bike itself, I don't know. Anyway, just sharing my story which is probably not over yet. Plenty of riding left unless I try to sell this bike later. Would post pictures but I don't feel like they do it justice.

Bigger does feel more substantial.

Good luck with it. People will try to kill you on a daily basis.

Currently wearing gear that is too small for me. Came free with the bike. Shopping on craigslist has not turned up much yet.

as soon as I got my bigger bikes I also felt safer and more in control. That big back tire doesnt fall into ruts on the highway as well either.

My 1000 was scary at first.it is way lighter than my old 750, its also smaller yet has way more power. Took a little while to get used tp.
