Anthony is the owner of the shop where Shiftdrift works. When he first started there, he namedropped about 65 times a week. Now every quick car that get's talked about on here he asks "Did you ever have that car at Anthony's shop?" Or "Do you know Anthony?"..."There's a 2 second Talon in Louisville, I put air in the tire!!!11!1!Eleven."

Man Vincent, you really are a douche. You owe me 80 bucks and an x box still. Anyways, just because I advertise where I work and I've asked one truck if they were at the shop doesnt mean I name drop. Sure search Anthony and i've said his name.....but advertising gets business. No nutswinging here, I can post Dyno vids of any car i've spoken of.

i know this is css, but this doesnt really need to be a 14 page thread before i make any progress on the car.

i really dont care for the css lolz and drama, theres many other threads for that.

Glad to see progress on this Brent, there for a while you just seemed bummed about it. Let me know if you need any help.... I should be good for any nissan help but once the domestic parts start getting bolted on i'll be a fish out of water lol

bah, its all nuts and bolts. if i need some help ill put the word out. the stuff id like help on is the crap i dont even want to do, so i dont want to ask friends to help me. nobody wants to help get adhesive residue off of the interior where the sound crap was for example.

im actually excited to get moving along with it. i wish i could go at a faster pace, but some things im still trying to figure out what i want to do, or the best way to do things, or im waiting on someone to help me with body work.

a bit of progress tonight. i finished taking off the tar sound crap. now all i have to do is get rid if the adhesive residue to leave a clean surface to paint. a gallon of goof off or similar should do the trick.

aside from that i cut out one of the rear 1/4 windows. i was waiting on a friend of a friend to cut these windows out for me, but im tired of playing the waiting game, so i took the risk of breaking the glass and decided to cut it out. no guts no glory right?

this was one of the more stressful things i have done to my car ever. i pictured the glass in a million pieces. luckily, it came out in one piece without too much fuss.

figured id post a pic of the tools used to cut the glass out. the long tool with the razor blade on the end is used when you can reach the glue from a straight angle. so i cut along the top of the glass with this. then the other tool is a pair of handles that you attach a cutting wire through and use like a saw to cut the window glue.

if the glas gets flexed too much it will break, so you have to watch how you pull the handles.

also to note, the reason for removing the 1/4 glass...

1. no tape lines with the new paint job.

2. the roof panel has spot welds across the top, and those have to be drilled out.

honestly, i have little of either. i just work on it till it gets shitty, then walk away. sometimes ill do 2 sessions a day/night. the idea this time around is to take my time and do it right. no rushing, and if i dont feel like working on it, the car can sit until i do.

your method takes much longer on the reassembly side.

That's how shit gets done right though. If you make sure you stay on it at least relatively often, you'll be a lot happier that way. Hopefully your interest stays locked on it because I'd like to see this finished.

It's not a car, but I know exactly how it is to have a long term and tiring goal you're trying to do meticulously.
