There is no comparison when you're talking about the new M3 and a 335. The new M feels tighter, has better power delivery, handles better and if you choose to mod the M, not much can touch it.

335s are good cars, especially the xi version modded. However, driving it you can tell that it's tuned more for comfort and civility than the I'm on the edge of civility feeling you get in any M car. As far as the douche factor, well douches come in all units.

Bottom line - M wins.

...even my 95 m3 is faster than a stock 335... and handles a lot better because it is so much lighter... which is why the m3 gets the garage

Unless that 95 is severely modded I call total BS on the comment of out running the 335i. I've owned both a 99 M3 5-speed and a 07 335i 6-speed coupe, no question the 335i was clearly faster even with the weight difference.

Value wise the 335i is the best bang for the buck, the m3 is not worth the extra sticker shock unless you're just being handed money to burn and not working for it.

His M3 is Dinan supercharged so it probably is quicker than a stock 335i.

I haven't driven an M3 but I drove a new 335i and it pulled pretty hard. Super nice inside too.
