That's a different kind of shifting!! You just have to push the lever forward!
A properly setup RWD car will kill a properly setup AWD car off the line.
Think about it...RWD...all your power and weight is transfered to the rear wheels...GOOD.
AWD....all the weight is transfered to the rear wheels, but 50% of the power goes to the front and 50% goes to the rear....BAD.
1.3x 60fts is ok for a setup RWD car. 1.4x 60fts is amazing for a setup AWD car and 1.3x's are almost unheard of.
Now once things are rolling...AWD cars definately have an easier time driving at high hp....its kind of a hold it to the wood and point and steer kind of thing!

The tune was fairly conservative imo....lots of boost (30psi), 10.8 a/f and 20 degrees of timing (high for my car would be 26 or so). Hope to start pushing the car next year

I think my turbo would be an ideal turbo for an upgrade on your setup, they say that the pt-88 is laggy for a street car so I didnt go that route...I had the chance to pick up a 88 but after I thought about it I wanted a upgrade 76gts

I need to stay with the 70mm. I race in a heads up class with the same type of cars. Our turbo limit is 70mm. I wouldn't go bigger than that anyways...the 70 already puts the block at it's hp limit.

i may be upgrading to a bigger turbo at some point after i see what the GT42 will put down, the borg warner/airwerks S82-S88 are looking good. the 82mm is offered with a billet wheel for better spool and is rated at 1350hp. i should be able to see 8k rpm fine with the solid roller setup, conventional distributor, and standalone

s82 is a bad ass turbo..you dont really need to take it 8k imo, its all in the mid range if your going to pass or fail...

Im not dum and if your going to start running mouth then hop of this thread...
two we both know that turbo cars dont make peak power at redline, so what I said is you dont need to take it 8k when your peak power is in the mid range, I thought the same to bro.

also depends on the turbo if i go s82 or bigger i will need some good rpms to put it in its efficiency range, where a 74 mm will make peak power sooner

No reason why the gt42 shouldn't put out 1000whp. But will your car handle it consistently? Just run 55psi and call it a day.

A 42 on a v8 and on a 4cyl are two differnt things. If perhaps the turbo had a big A/R it it may get close to 1000hp. Think a few v8 guys got close @870hp. One guy I spoke with picked up .5 and mph. switching to a borg with a bigger a/r. Thats my problem,I feel with my little 1.01 exhaust will be over ran by the size the motor.

as well as through an auto and 9'' theres goes 20+ % drivetrain loss im thinking the most the gt42 will be able to put down is 800-850. after i get it all together and get everylast part i need ill start talking to jose at forced inductions and see what he recommends, should be the borg warner s82-s91
