Official Forum Rules and Guidelines

I think its about time we post official rules for people to follow. I have comprised a small list of rules and disciplinary action - please let me know what you think.

1. DO NOT post any negative comment, about anyone, in any thread, unless it is DIRECTLY related to the topic.

2. Please refrain from racist comments – it makes everyone here look bad.

3. If you have a problem with someone, take it up with them in person. Trolling the forums posting irrelevant comments on every thread they participate in will only result in you taking a one-way trip to Banville.

We will begin using the user infraction feature that is built into vBulletin. Here is how it is going to work. Each time a admin/mod adds an infraction you get a point. Points will remain on your account for a period of 30 days. If you accumulate 2 points you will be banned for 7 days. If you accumulate 3 you will be banned for 1 month.

Points are added based on admin/mod discretion - we will do our best to be fair and not to take things out of context, but keep in mind the sheer amount of information posted each day makes this very difficult. To be on the safe side, if you think what you are going to post could be seen as an infraction - ask first or reword it.

Will we know if points have been added? Like in a PM or something? And know what post got us the points? Could be useful to know for future reference.

I'm 99% sure that you will be notified by pm or email when you get a point - and 80% sure there will be a link provided. This system is still in the testing phase and likely to be refined based on member feedback.
