B5 S4 1 beep when braking
Ok Audi guys, whenever I brake my car lets out 1 long beep. If I come to a complete stop and keep my foot on the brake it won't beep again. If I lift my foot but then hit the brakes again, it will beep. Of course my LCD is bad, so I can't read the yellow warning that comes with the beep. Googling hasn't yielded any good results, but seems to point towards the ABS module. I don't get the ABS light on when this occurs though. Any thoughts on this? Perhaps my ABS module is on it's way out? I suppose I need to see someone with VAG Com... Thanks in advance ricers.

buddy has a vag com. Sometimes if you have abs light, and other lights on, its the brake light switch underneath the pedal. its like a 8 dollar part and usually go bad with age. I would try that and clear codes. That fixed the lights on my car dash.

Thank you sir, didn't know about that. Also want to add, that I already did pads. They were low and that's what I initially thought was the cause, yet the beeping still occurs. Every. Fucking. Time.

Have you check all the pad sensor wires? I had one come lose on the rear pads and it would do something similar... You can always just disconnect the abs controller and drive around abs-less which is what i'm doing now till i figure out why one of the rear abs sensors loses signal during braking at random...
oh yeah x2 on what nolongerbiturbowagon said... start there I would...

I have a b5 s4 guy with vag com that would be happy to do it for you tomorrow, the next day, whenever, but yes that sounds like an ABS module to me, kind of odd. Could also be an ABS sensor fault?
Let me know man 513 340 6420

So, I tried the brake pedal switch to no avail. I even tried disconnecting the ABS per P's suggestion just to make it stop beeping, but this did not work either. Any of you VW/Audi guys have anymore ideas? Trying to fix some of this annoying shit since I want to sell it. Someone with vagina-com want to scan this thing tonight? lol

It's the warning tone beep that comes from the dash... I'll try to describe it a bit better. During the day (lights off) when I brake for longer than a few seconds the top of my broke ass LCD turns yellow and I get a single beep. Now, here's something weird, when I turn on my lights my abs and esp lights come on and it beeps when I LET OFF the brakes. So if I hit the pedal, slow down, then let off it will beep. It's ri-goddamn-diculous.

I assume you're checked the tail lamps themselves?
My friend's 01.5 goes crazy when a headlight bulb is disconnected.. maybe they included the same warning for the rear end as well?

I did not take the bulbs out to check, but they all come on and seem to be working just fine.

When it first started, I suspected low fluid and checked. Wasn't that, so I checked the pads... Aha, the front pads are indeed low and down to the wear sensor wires. Replaced and it's still fucking beeping.
