Exhaust help?
Anyone here do custom exhaust? I got the car on the lift yesterday and need a few pieces taken off. Want to cut off the 2nd cats and resonator. But the way AMG made this is little goofy. They had two pipes come down under the car/primary cats, then move right next to each other, run into two secondary cats, then a y-pipe into the resonator, then on larger pipe out to the rear, then seperates into two to the mufflers. So a 2-1-2 configuration. The piping is 2 1/4 into the two cats, then 2 3/4 out of the resonator.

So i would need somebody to make two 2 1/4 pipes, into a y pipe and eventually be 2 3/4 out. This is all in the span of about 2 feet.

I will try and get a picture of it but is way too complicated for me to eff with.

Anyone good at that kind of stuff?

Pic of what exhaust looks like. Not mine btw. Mine is alot cleaner. lol

I would help but we can't, legally, remove catalytic converters. But, like Nick said, not really difficult. It's one of the simpler ones I've seen.

So cutting off the "secondary" cats won't throw a CEL on this car? I hope not. You can't drive around in an Benz with the CEL light on! This isn't a Honda, bro.

this with 2 straight sections of pipe will make it a very easy job. you can play with the sizes of the new pipe to make it a slip fit, by either going 1/4 over or under size. there is also a little wiggle room that would make up for the distance between the pipes where they are cut in the front.

you might want to call that company to get a measurement on the i/d and o/d of their pipes. i just made my exhaust for my car and used parts from different companies, and it seems some companies run a little different size. they can probably stretch ends to give you a slip fit for for what size you need if you ask them.
