School me on the RSX-S.
Like the title says.

I know I could read all the reviews online until my eyes pop out, but I want to hear first hand, unbiased reviews from you guys. (Except Chad.) jk

How do they handle with a decent set of tires on stock suspension?

The one I'm looking at has an injen CAI, it looks to be steel, are there better ones out there? If the stock box came with it, I wouldn't want an aftermarket one.

It also has a little trouble getting into 5th gear, no grinding or anything, just seems like the gate is super tiny and there's an angle you have to find to get it in.

What kind of real world MPG's are you guys seeing? I drive 4 miles to work, so this is not a huge deal, just curious is the 28mpg I've read is realistic.

And last but not least, if I shift at the redline of 8,400RPMS, Can I stay in VTEC? jk

Also the car has these ugly ass wheels on it(not exactly these, the ones on the RSX are 5 lug, but are very similar,) with brand new tires.

If I ended up buying this, if anyone were to be interested in trading for some oem RSX or decent 5x114.3 17's with decent tires and maybe some cash my way, LMK.

I'm not going to be doing anything where low speed wheelspin will be an issue, just some back road cruising type shit.

26-28 MPG, just don't do a Juicy 3-2 powershift.

Try a different fluid in the trans. Honda changed the MTF to be pisswater thin for the K trannys, nothing but headaches.

Third gear is the money gear when you have to fix them. I've never had a chance to open one, I have someone in Millville that knows his way through the K boxes.

So what would you recommend for tranny fluid then? And I'm not going to power shifting or anything stupid, it's going to be a daily. Not saying I won't be opening it up and banging some gears, but side-stepping and flat foot shifting are not on the agenda.

I have no exp. with these so my knowledge is limited. I hear of Amsoil Synchomax fluid IIRC.

IMHO I'd run whatever Andy Hollis ran in his One Lap car that is featured in Honda Tuning that is coming out. Which is not listed on OneLapCRX Setup notes on Facebook.

Run any type of synchromesh in a honda tranny, and the material of which the intake tube is made doesn't matter. If it is indeed Injen, it has a $200+ sticker than makes CA cops happy.

I have Torco RTF on hand, it is not cheap. After NASA Nats in early Sept, I'll have a case of Torco MTF to mess with. You pay what I pay in exchange for reports on if it helped or not.

RTF is about $18 a liter, MTF I haven't got a price yet, I expect $11-13 a liter.

I'm hearing reports of folks mixing 50/50 RTF/MTF with great results. Until I can drive this fluid combo in my OWN tranny I cannot say if it works or not.

Note that most of my customers are RACING their Honda trannys on tracks like VIR, Mid Ohio, Road America, Road Atlanta, etc. How these fluids performs on daily driver status is something I wish to test myself.

100% city driving in the winter and letting the car warm up for 45-60min before you get in it... You MIGHT get 26-27mpg. Typically mixed driving I get 30-33, depending on the AC use. For strictly hwy, 33-37. Without AC and stayin under 75mph, 35mpg+ should not be an issue at all. I drive roughly 1000miles a week. Just did 2500 last week and about to complete another 2000+ this week. Every tank was 35.5-36.8mpg. Similar drives I'll do 33-35 with the AC. That's all with 200k on the motor(car has just under 240). Only reason i had to put in a different engine.... Well, someone should post the video lol.

But I've owned mine for 3yrs in October. Since then I've drive. It about 2.5 years. The other 6 months I was either out of town in a rental or it was blown up. I've put 115k on it in that time. I love it, and wouldn't hesitate to buy another. It's very comfortable for long drives. Decent Bose system. Has enough pep to get out the way of traffic or to make for some fun driving when needed. it's very spacious. I've had 6 grown men piled in at TX2k11, 250cc 4wheeler, Ikea furntiture. All kinds of things.

Outside of tires, brakes, and oil. I haven't had to replace anything(besides the engine). Hell, I'm still on the clutch that was in it when I bought it. Trans still shifts great, no notchiness into any gear. But then again I don't beat on the car.

I'd be weary of the trans, depending on the total price of the car. I also have the injen intake. It's supposed to give te most power of any cai on the market. It certainly makes the intake noise audible.

Dislikes: blind spot that Tim mentioned. No arm rest. No autopilot. That's pretty much it.

Si has a sweet arm rest. The interior in the rsx is nicer. I hate how the cars drives when cold in the lower gears. My gf averages 30mpg with about an even mix of driving. If you have any questions about them listen to robbie, he lives in his lol.

He lives in KY bro. Besides, have you ever seen Robbie's head? If he can fit that fucker between the A & B pillar he could probably shoehorn a tank in there.
