How the hell have all you guys snapped so many belts?! Haven't you heard of maintenance??? Lol, that's the first thing I do when I buy a used car. (Timing belt/water pump/ tune up.) Its usually a whopping $200 in parts to have peace of mind, knowing its been done.

So I started to work on this today. I keep having issues getting the belt on correctly. I have both sets of cams in time with each other but the crank is off by one tooth. Fml. Suggestions for adding tension to the belt to insure proper timing?

There's a write up somewhere, but you basically have to set it one tooth back, jam the cam gears, there's a pinhole on each you can stick a nail in, and then take the slack out and it will pull forward correctly.

Driver has now terrorized my shipper, as well as me until load was unloaded. Sat on my shippers property until he came back to offload these clowns. My ma shipper blew a tire. :(

I mean I'll be honest, I dont really want to do it, but...if I have some free time I'm sure I could swing by and help out. Ha, I hate working on cars anymore.


I swear though if you line the belt up 1 tooth back (towards the interior of the car), pull the pin in the tensioner, it will pull the belt straight, and just cycle it a couple times to make sure everything is good.
