Attention Mustang guys! what is needed to swap a 302 motor
(just motor), into a 95 3.8 liter V6 mustang with manual trans??? Please list all of the basic parts needed, such as transmission, ECU, harness, exhaust, etc.. I'm asking for a friend who just blew the driver side head gasket on his v6 and can pick up a 88 fox body 302 motor (MOTOR ONLY) for "cheap".. I don't know shit about what's involved but I'm being asked to do the swap.. If not, he's asking me to replace the head-gaskets on the 3.8 v6motor that has 280K on it

Should be pretty easy. im no expert, but should be easy swap. The 95 was last year they put the 302 in that body style i think right? Im sure will need new harness/ecu and exhaust though. But im no expert like i said. Im good at general information! hahaha

I've never done this swap, but I'm pretty sure you'll need a k member, ecu, harness, and all the other "duh" shit.

What's he looking to spend?

Like Walter said, the 94-95 K member is what you want, just use the 94-95 V8 mounts.

I'm not sure if that trans will even bolt up to a 302 and the 94-95 v8 T5 cars have different width bellhousings. The 94-95 cars also have different serpentine setups that pull all the accessories back in towards the motor and have factory electric fans so if that 88 motor has the stock accessory setup on it, it might not clear the stock fan.

That's probably the most straightforward and simple head gasket swap you're going to find though. That or just replace the whole motor. You should be able to find a whole 3.8 for cheap.

The v6 t5 trans/bell will work. He can either use all 94-95 front acc or all fox acc, both with an elec fan. v6 rad will work too.
