What about the bar that goes by the "oh shit" handle......if you were strapped into a 5-point harness with no helmet on, can you absolutely 100% say you won't hit your head on it in a crash??

A major sanctioning body begs to differ with you. I'd presume they know what's safe for you, and what isn't....
Search Justin Holder on here. I'm not going to hold your hand. but that should answer your question.

Many race cars I've been in, yes. I tried this in my old Chevelle. Took the roll bar padding off, strapped in, and tried to see if my head could touch. No dice. All depends on who's putting your shit together.
Anything else, I'd cover it in SFI approved padding (not that cheap shit foam noodle junk) and take my chances. Sure beats having the B pillar/roof meet my head instead.....

In my car at first i wasnt that worried about having a cage. But I want the car to work. A cage not only plays a big part in safety it plays a huge part in making the chassis work.

That's something that would depend on the car. Should be easy to determine, just sit your tall ass in an Evo with a full cage.

I have no issues with Head 2 Bar clearance...but then again I'm a midget so.. lol. I'm 95% confident I'd have no issues hitting my head, and i'm 100% sure I'd rather have a cage at 150mph.

You built your car to fit into a class and I understand that a cage is part of that. I built my car to be fast not to be a drag car. It doesn't have a class and I'm not a weekend warrior at the drag strip. It is as you put it my Sunday cruiser that i occasionally take to the track.

All of your comments referring to your car, are null. You don't have a cage, only a roll bar.

Its up to you and how much you value your life. Before I had kids I would have said no. After kids I say yes. I've seen cages prevent serious injury and death in full roof 9 second and faster cars.

And just so you ritards don't think I mean that foam noodle junk, aka you can't read, this is SFI padding.
This would cover above rollbar in vicinity to the driver's dome piece.
This, is a pool toy.

It is your call, you know the risk of driving that car without it and with it......if you wreck at 150+ shit can go bad, at that speed I would say yes, but it is Tims toy, he drives it alot on the street, it would suck to cut that car up and then try to sell it later.
I dont think he road races it, so that is not really an issue, if you could get something that was a bolt in to help you from dying then i say go for it, I would hate to go to your funeral if it could be avoided!

ummm ok not sure i undertand that reply but anyways I'm talking about atleast putting an 8 point it, that way he wont have the halo bar or the dash bars to worry about smaking his dome into, and the dash wont have to be cut. essentially a new carpet and youd never know a 8 point was there

I agree very much so with Tim. It's a street car. If he doesn't want to put a cage in it, then don't put a cage in it. All this 150+mph jibber jabber has no relevance. My car can go 150+mph, but that doesn't mean I'm going to put a cage in it. He didn't build it to fit into any kind of class. The only times he races at the track are at Buschur events which I'm sure don't require one, or at Tri-State, where you can run your 9 second car down the track with no helmet, a beer in your hand, and two kids in the backseat and they won't give a fuck.

i dont class race, its the general rules to legally take your car down the track at those speeds at any point in time. Just some tracks are looser on the rules than others but at 150 they may let you slide for no chute but not no cage imo
