2004 Nissan Maxima Question?

Was thinking about buying an 04 Nissan Maxima my wife ("her dream car"), and was wondering if Nissan ever came out with a fix for the tranny. Supposedly there were a lot of complaints with that particular year shifting hard 1-2 and down shifting 3-2-1...Anyone hear of a fix for this...

The only fix for the first year five speed auto is a new transmission, unfortunately.

Thanks....Test drove it and the transmission is slipping bad...Think I'll buy it anyway. it's at a dealership and they said they would send it to Nissan and have it fixed....We'll see...

If they guarantee that they will totally replace the transmission with a fully updated version, yes. But don't let them pull some stupid shit on you.

Honestly though, I would just hunt for an 05-06 man. Something that already has the problem fixed.
