Looks like a hyundai, but its not too bad. Seems over priced... more expensive than a base camaro? I echo the 2-3 years too late statement.

I'd rather buy a hyundai veloster and save the 7 grand... (the Veloster Turbo is 21k and has 201 hp, so save 3 grand for the same HP))

I think this should be priced more at the 20-21k range...

I don't know, but in the gen coupe's if the car isn't warmed up past a certain temp, the power is restricted.

perhaps they are doing the same on the frs/brz

I don't know, but I assume this car will have a larger aftermarket following than my v6 mustang did. Is the car slow? Yes. Does it have potential? I think so. This car was never meant for straight lines

if I had to choose between frs or brz, id take the br-z just for the alcantara seats, nav, hids, push button start etc etc. Little things that would make it more bearable to daily. im hoping subaru has plans set in motion for an sti version.

latest motor trend issue has the brz and frs in top two places against mustang, genesis, miata and some others.
The first place finish was based on subjective crap. The genesis stopped way shorter than the BRZ, yet they both get 20pts in brakes? Not to mention the interior scores. For a fun DD, I'll stick with the GC all day. Admittedly, the new 3.8 would be a hell of a lot more fun out of the box.

I went and test drove the genesis coupe, and it was faster, but the handling was sub par (comparable to a mustang), fealt heavy, brakes did not feel as responsive and the car just in general was not as much fun to drive. However, it was much quicker, you could feel the torque (frs is pretty much flat in midrange, but does pull more towards the top end), and I actually liked teh interior layout better. I would still choose the frs any day over the new genesis coupe

No, the car is just slow. They trap 93mph, which isn't THAT bad depending on the price, but for 27k, I'd expect better.

Perhaps they'll give it a 2.5 liter version of that D-4S engine that makes 250hp. Like I said, I sat in one and they are literally perfect in every respect aside from the stock tires and. . . the 200hp.

I do have to say that I hate the styling of the front end on the '13 GC's, but the handling problems can be solved with the R-Spec camber bolts. Takes out a lot of the understeer, but it's still a heavy turd

Nice pickup on the Scion, regardless. I think it'd be a fun track car.

You're delusional if you think this brand new model car will have a bigger aftermarket than a car that has been around for nearly 50 years. V6 or not.

And my roommate is highly considering getting one this fall.

I am willing to bet that the BRZ / FRS will have more aftermarket parts available than any and all V6 Poopstangs ever made minus repo repair parts

Hell, just a quick browse has revieled that there is already suspension parts fitted to them, amongst other bling parts. Super / Turbo kits are being worked up, so its a safe bet.

All jokes aside, the FRS / BRZ will be around for a while, considering they are racing them with more HP.

Thanks, I thought long and hard about which vehicle I wanted to go with. I actually do not mind the exterior of the GC that much (still prefer the frs), but the way it handled left more to desire. I'll have to drive one of the new ones with the r spec package to see how it handles

I wasn't saying there was no aftermarket, and that it couldn't beat the mustang, I meant it will never have a larger aftermarket.

I disagree.. I think the number of people that will mod the FRS/BRZ is much greater than those that would mod a V6 Mustang.

it will have a larger aftermarket than the v6. Literally 30% of the aftermarket performance pieces I had were either one off, or a test run between less than 10 pieces. The only parts that are made specifically for v6 mustangs are some of the aesthetic pieces and a couple FI kits, which are usually too conservative

I'd say you are right, but if we're talking the entire car, suspension, cosmetics, and all that shit, the mustang will have a fuck ton more shit than the "gt86" cars. Just because it will also fit the gt.

Yeah, most people with V6 "pony cars" do nothing but glue on tacky racing stripes and decal kits from JC Whitney.
