leaking transmission fluid
i just recently changed my wheel bearing and axle on the passenger side and ever since i installed the new axle it has been leaking transmission fluid from the output shaft. Any ideas why this would be happening? i have a 99 eclipse rs.

axle seal. you probably damaged it putting the new axle back in.

I am just having troubles understanding his thought pattern. Hmm, I put and axle in, which goes in the fucking transmission, and now fluid is coming out. I wonder where that could ever be coming from?

Leak
You may have nicked the axle seal. It can be so small you can't hardly see it.
Other than that, ur output shaft seal may have just decided to go south.

Check first that you engaged it fully in the transmission. If so, replace the seal, after checking first for excessive shaft wear.

Hello,
Based on my experience I would say that you have a leak in the pan. If a transmission is losing fluid fast it is generally from a puncture caused by a rock, hitting.
