Start up issues.
I have an '86 bronco that sat while I was on deployment. Drove everyday before we left. Now I can't get it to start. New battery and has electrical power now but wouldn't even crank. Its a 4.9 straight 6. Anyone know what would cause it to not crank over at all. Maybe it still needs a jump but maybe something else. TIA.

Did you add any sort of stabilizer to the gas in the tank?

Does it have gas?

How long were you deployed...it could have stale gas in it?

Tried to see if it will fire on starting fluid?

Ummmm he said it wouldn't even crank?

Follow your battery cable from the positive to the solenoid, that's going to be the round thing with a bunch of wires connected to it. Have someone try to start it and tap on the solenoid. If that doesn't work, try the same thing with the starter... Have someone try turning the key to the start position while tapping on the starter motor with a light hammer. Don't bust it but some light taps.

Sounds like either the solenoid or the starter has taken a poo poo.

I have seen many of those take a dump at work. (but those were much newer f/e150/250/350 trucks and vans)..... Jump them shits with a screwdriver!!!!

Not much fuel in it but once it tried cranking over it eventually started up. Runs like a champ now.
