Need some Ford help. anybody?
whats up fellas.. to start off, i know nothing about fords..

with that being said, i have a 2001 Crown Victoria PI. 4.6 sohc. and theres a loud ticking type noise comming from the front Timing chain area. i changed the oil, and didnt notice any nylon mixed in, but im pretty sure it is the timing chain. any of you ever done one? and know where a full timing chain kit could be found? and maybe a write up? i have mitchell at work, and i found a few TSB's about timing chain tensioner failure, but theres no walk throughs on it.

thanks

I think it's a common noise with the CVPI's. I don't know if you're on srd but ask southpaw4.6. He had the same problem with his.

you can get a chain and tensioner kit at any parts store, it's really a pretty easy job although a little time consuming. It calls for a few special tools but can be accomplished without them. I have the otc timing chain tool set for all of the 4.6/5.4 and V-10's

I bought it from a MACman but I've done the job without it before I bought the set.
