Only pic I have right now, my little brother's were checking it out. 4 tires were ordered today along with a Kenwood head unit since this one doesn't play cd's. The salesmen made me that deal because when we went to look at it, the radio wouldn't work at all(no stations would come in, just static) I took it back to work and had it working in minutes, the antenna wasn't plugged to the back in the stereo. Lol Still doesn't play CD's though.

The tires were 2 different sizes front and rear so he ordered 4 new 215/40's and the head unit with the same price as he had told me the day before. Didn't come out too bad for a daily. Should last quite a while, as long as I put a header on it to eliminate the pre cat failing bullshit.

Don't care what anyone says, i beat the living balls out of my 04 and had zero issues. Actually had that car for a whike too. I did loctite the butterfly screws and ran a dc header. I still have some es mmi's for free.

Robbie, I know this car is inferior to the RSX-S in terms of, well everything except low end torque. But I picked up a second job, and needed a car that day. And this car does fine for what I wanted. A nice daily with some pep.

And James, I'll take those if you don't want them!! The car definitely needs them, I don't know if your 04 was the same, but with the throttle response the way it is at low speeds, like under 40 mph is an on/off switch. There's literally no way to keep it at a steady speed under 40. It's annoying as shit. I need to go do the idle reflash at Nissan soon. Maybe this weekend. I'll give you something for them, they're worth something to me, that jerking at low speeds is annoying me to death.

I'm also thinking about buying a header and doing the locktite mod when I get back to work Tuesday. Will the header completely eliminate the chance of pre-cat failure? If so, will any brand work? I've heard the Nismo won't, but I haven't been really doing a whole lot of research.

PM me when you get a chance on those mounts, if you're wanting to get rid of them. I'll take them and come to you whenever you're available.

They're inserts for the motor mounts to help with the horrible wheel hop those cars have. They won't help with any of that other stuff you were talking about lol.

Nismo makes a catted and a catless version of their header. Nismo was always way overpriced though. I ran a DC and it fit fine. Don't have experience with any others.

I read about the inserts you're talking about on nissanclub.com. They "said" it help with the notchiness of the transmission, who knows. but it definitely needs something. It feels like the motor rocks 5-6" back and forth.

EDIT: I know it won't help with the throttle making it rock back and forth, but from what I've read, it absorbs some of the jerking from this thing not being able to hold a certain speed.

Also, what kind of gas mileage were you seeing with yours? My trips to work are 4 miles one way, and my other job is 40 miles through some backroads, and I'm seeing about 24mpg. I'm not beating on it, just push it every now and again to about 4k through the corners, but that's rare for me to do. I just figured with the 6th gear this thing would get better mpg.

For a header I was also thinking about DC if I can get it ceramic coated. If not I'll get the catless nismo and keep the stock catback.

The vette is averaging 24mpg right now with a little more city. Straight highway 32-33mpg. My SI gets 28ish mixed and 34-35mpg straight highway and would wax a stupid SpecV lol

Bullshit. How much "city" driving are you doing? I can get the goat to pull 25mpg average all highway, but as soon as you find an onramp, that shit will find the 19mpg reading quickly LOL.

I don't drive in a ton of traffic hardly ever and I'm able to generally cruise around 50mph most the time. My mpg haven't dropped under 21mpg since I bought the car. Driving the car back from nashville it got 32.xx mpg with the AC cranking and cruise on 75-80mph. I drive very conservatively though and rarely beat on it. Goat's are actually whales btw

Supposedly if you add a header and intake, you can average around 33-34 mpg highway and upper 20's mixed average. I really didn't want to get an intake, just a header to eliminate the pre cat issue. I guess I could just install the header and check the gains, if it's not much different, I may buy/make an intake just to get the mpg's up a bit. I'd like a WAI with an enclosed box where the filter is. I've been thinking about building one, it wouldn't be too difficult.

Vince, quit driving it like a V8 an lugging it in 6th gear.

It is a 4 cylinder, it needs twice as many rpm to get out of its own way :)

They don't help the notchiness in the trans at all. Only thing that helped that was different trans fluid. I had a TWM short shift bracket and it only made things worse. I've heard that new Shockproof or whatever it's called from Redline will help with that.

Mine never got great gas mileage either. Anyone that told you that you will get 30+ with any mods is high. I had a CAI on mine as well. Not happening.

Redline Shockproof Light, if Torco MTF or RTF works I'll have both in stock after next weekend. I have RTF now (pricey!) and picking up the MTF Sunday.

PS: I've not read in Nissan tranny's and don't plan on it.

Supposedly all the fluids were changed, and the radiator was flushed. Who knows though, I'm going to change the oil/tranny fluid regardless still. I wouldn't say I lug it around, it's in 6th at 50-ish which is about 1800, and that's only if i'm on flat road. It actually makes pretty decent low end torque for a 4 cylinder. Kind of a big 4 cyl though at 2.5 liters. I'll try that redline and see how it works, how pricey are you talking? I'll just use royal purple if it's in that territory, unless this shit is proven to be better. Anything to make this thing shift better, feels like I'm trying to powershift a pick up truck.
