It's not the flat 4 that causes the sound....it's the exhaust setup. If you put equal length headers, it sounds like a normal 4 cylinder, actually. It's odd to hear a Subaru that sounds similar to an Evo...
The LS6 sitting on the engine stand next to the car is looking better and better everyday

Ruled out fuel line issues and spark issues tonight. The fuel is getting through the lines fine and all the plugs are firing. The next step is to swap out the injectors and also throw a gauge on my fuel system to check fuel pressure.
Before I try to start it on my new injectors, I need to have my tuner re-flash my map.....I'll be going from the
assumed stock 520cc injectors to 880cc's.
The plugs were a bit damp when I pulled them, which leads me to believe that the injectors are either acting up, or were modified in the past (common for STI's) and flowing more than stock flow rates.

The injector bearings are known to go bad from time to time even when new. Tricky things.
