Harmonic balancer pulley tool?
I am looking for the hexagon shaped tool used to hold the harmonic balancer so I can give a breaker bar hell and the pulley not move with me. I know this tool exist because I have used it before that my friend let me barrow. Basically I'm wandering if any one knows where I can find this tool? Rent or buy it I don't care. Autozone and advanced here are both retarded and keep saying the tool don't exist. I know snap on sells them but this is needed by tomorrow morning so I need to find a store with it. Here is a picture of what I am looking for. http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:A...l7tt2ZY7dTn6Aa

TPR has one. As far as renting it from Rob, that's his call.

What car/motor is this for?

I'm pretty sure Autozone has one of those in their Loan-a-tool program. I went through their site and couldn't find it though. It was almost two years ago, so I don't know.

It's for the b18. And I know auto zone don't have it because I bitched them out for not having it the last time I needed it.

Didn't you say youUsed to work there too Jeff before? I mean don't get me wrong, I even say the only difference in autozone and kmart is the stuff they sell. Neither stores employees know what there selling. But I'm working on enrolling back into school and autozone let's me choose my hours so it was the best choice. As far as knowledge? I'll just say I got on this forum to meet more locals. Not for help with my car.

fyi... There are multiple ways to break that bolt loose without the tool.

-In the past I've filled the cylinder with nylon rope on the compression stroke to stop the crank.

-You can run a bolt into the back of the flywheel and a bolt in one of the holes for the flywheel cover, then brace a combination wrench between the two.

Be creative n I'm sure you can find a solution that isn't in your wallet.
