My friend recently acquired a quite large sum of money and in celebrating, bought himself a '04 Mustang GT. Now he is looking into performance mods and is asking me. I figure, toss on a blower, a whole new set of underdrive pullies, cams, intake and exhaust. I'm no Mustang guy, nor do I claim to be. Help me out here...

What kind of S/C should we be looking at? And what for exhaust? How big and what sounds the best? If you have any recommendations for performance upgrades, let me know!

Thanks,
Brian

Toss a brick wall infront ot it... J/K. But when I had my old fox body the only thing I wanted to work on at the time was suspension, Get a nice mean sounding exhaust for it too. That just makes it more fun to drive.

I would definitly look into a turbo system for it as an option. Turbo's on mustangs kick ass, for the past two years we have been putting together a turbo mustang, if you have any questions about them, feel free to ask me.

KB s/c, flowmaster exhaust (like every other mustang in the world). do an X pipe as well...get some good tires on the back.... and the final mod : bring back that brick wall option, and run it head on into it.... :laughs:

Get a roots type blower, 2.5 exhaust, thick sway bars, nice suspension upgrade, nice sticky tires, short throw shifter, and a tuner from www.bamachips.com (FORD ONLY)

Now ask him what he wants for the exhuast. Sound or performance, magnaflow is for performace, borla is a mix (performance and sound), Flowmaster is for sound. Whatever he does needs to be 2.5 coming off outlet of the muffler, duals can be like 2.5 with 3 inch tip. Look at a nice 3 inch inlet 2.5 dual outlet, mixed with two 3 inch chrome tips. I'M NOT A MUSTANG OWNER. But that combo sounds like a winner with a blower on the engine.

I'd look into ATI for a procharger kit.

As far as exhaust goes, I'd say Dr. Gas/Bassani X pipe and look into Ford Motorsports 3" exhaust kit. Looks and sounds fuggin awesome!!!!

Yeah, check out stangbangerz. Avoid turbo, unless he wants to spend that kind of cash. It is not cheap. Neither is the Kenne Bell, but you would still have more a turbo. I dont like the ATI or Vortech setups. Mabey Spray, but only if it were like a 100 Dry Shot.

Call us. 513.554.1777 We are a Kenne Bell dealer, which would be great for a street car, loads of torque, and we can dyno tune it on our in-house dyno using SCT tuning software. Also check out www.modulardepot.com

Rustang, I'm seeing nothing about Kenne Bell superchargers on your website. For ease of use, I'm almost posative he would choose the 1700 (1.7L) supercharger, but I was looking for a price?

I would say either an intercooled kenne bell of a HP twin turbo set up. The price of he HP kit may seem high but you have to look at all the stuff you get. Oh yeah, the guys at MD know their shit and are great to deal with.

What does he plan to use the car for?

Daily Driver?
Autocross?
Open Track?
Drag Racing?
All of the above?

Is he looking for peak (READ: high rpm) rpm power, or a broad powerband with a flat torque curve?

Also, how much is he looking to spend?

I agree with the others.....check the sig. ;)

Matt.

How much money does he have to spend is the question.

Nitrous good/ easy, sc better/harder, turbo best/complicated
